Meet the Author
Dean Rush was raised on a farm in the Midwest with three brothers and his widowed mother. He learned to fly at an early age and followed that path throughout most of his life.
Beginning with an eleven-year stint in the Air Force, Dean served as a test pilot and special forces operations pilot during the Vietnam conflict. He is the recipient of a Silver Star, the Distinguished Flying Cross, and ten Air Medals for valor. After leaving the Air Force, Dean co-founded Emerald Airlines, a small cargo airline that eventually became one of the first regional feeders for FEDEX and Pan American Airways. He has owned a number of small businesses, has served as president of one of the general aviation divisions of American Airlines, Signature Flight Support aircraft sales division, and later, Fairchild Dornier Aircraft Company. He served on the advisory board of Piper Aircraft, Fairchild Aircraft, and the National Business Aircraft Association (NBAA) and has also been a director of the General Aviation Manufacturers Association, the National Aircraft Resale Association, and other trade organizations. Following 9/11 Dean served on the Aviation Security Task Force which established procedures to allow safe travel on aircraft in the United States and Europe.
Dean holds a Bachelor of Arts in psychology from DePauw University, Masters degrees in public administration and business administration from Golden Gate University, and a Masters degree in religious studies from Liberty University. He currently serves as Pastor of Ministry Operations at Community Bible Church in San Antonio, Texas. Dean speaks on the need for ethical standards in business and life throughout the United States. He and Vicki, his wife of forty-three years, have two children and four grandchildren.
