“This book is a testament to the extraordinary resilience of children and the acknowledgement that not even a chronic illness can truly change their heart and spirit. It is also an inspiring reminder to all parents that each child is precious and deserving of one fundamental need in life—to be loved and embraced, regardless of what the child or family is enduring.”
—Ruth I. Hoffman, MPH; CEO, American Childhood Cancer Organization; president, Childhood Cancer InternationalTM
“This is a beautifully crafted example and reminder to all of us that we need to be mindful when a family is faced with the diagnosis of a childhood illness. The impact of a devastating disease presents extraordinary challenges for the child as well as every member of the family, and Jimmy’s story illustrates the ways in which we can learn through that experience.”
—Pat Furlong, founding president & CEO, Parent Project Muscular Dystrophy
