Wholehearted Day had me glued to each page as I reflected upon my childhood.

Elizabeth’s artistic expressions and the bond she has with her child brought forth the memories of my mother’s life and the teachings she passed down to me.

The takeaway from this book is as clear as day. Honor your family. Learn and play as much as you can. Listen to your elders. And love the little things in life.

This book resonates with me.

—Ramon Shiloh, award-winning illustrator of The Otter, the Spotted Frog & the Great Flood: A Creek Indian Story

Wholehearted Day is unique and universal. Its message of love is individual and collective, something I know to be authentic to the author’s heart and soul. While any parent and child can connect through its pages, it’s even more relevant as we navigate and reemerge from a pandemic that has kept us both extra near and extra far from those we love.

—Katie Glusica, professor of weaving, artist, and restorer
