Meet the Author
Philip Iovino is retired from serving the public school education systems in New York and Virginia. He has a bachelor’s degree from the State University of New York at Cortland and a master’s degree, an advanced degree, and a doctoral degree in Educational Administration from the College of William & Mary in Williamsburg, Virginia. He has experience as a teacher, principal, State Department Specialist, Head Start Director, and school superintendent in Virginia. Iovino is a veteran of the United States Marine Corps Reserves (1971-1977).
Iovino includes reading the classics among his many passions. Beginning with the Iliad nearly thirty-five years ago, the author has been nurtured on a steady diet of religion, philosophy, politics, history, science and drama. Iovino also has an extensive collection of popular music and owns every Top 40 song from 1955-2000. The author currently resides in eastern Virginia with his wife of forty-two years, Christina Marie. His oldest daughter is an attorney in Miami, Florida, his second daughter is a Substance Abuse Counselor in Virginia, and his son recently completed his master’s degree in journalism from Emerson College in Cambridge, MA.
