Meet the Author
Before moving to the United States in July 2012, Claire graduated from the French University of Sorbonne Nouvelle with a Bachelor’s in French Modern Literature and languages. While at the university, she studied under Cecile Ladjali, a well-known French author of more than 30 books published by Actes Sud. Cecil then inspired Claire to begin her writing journey and work in the publishing industry. As a mother of four children, she now lives in the small town of West Point, Virginia, where she enjoys spending time along the riverbanks and looking at the Victorian-style houses. If she is not reading or writing, Claire loves traveling and photography. She has been part of the Brandylane Publishers’ team since June 2023, when she joined as an editor and project manager; she recently took on the position of book publicist. You Have a Talent is her first children’s book.

“Without a doubt, this author has found their calling in creating children’s books, and this one is phenomenal! With their God-given talent, they are aiding readers in understanding that they, too, possess a talent from God, even if they haven’t discovered it yet, and I think that is truly extraordinary and incredibly heartwarming.
Its beautifully written narrative emphasizes the idea that each of us is intentionally created by God, endowed with unique abilities meant to shine. In a world where children often grapple with self-doubt and comparison, this very special book encourages them to embrace their individuality and recognize that their worth is not defined by others’ opinions.
The struggle to identify one’s gifts can be daunting, especially for children who may feel lost or overlooked. Dupuis captures this sentiment perfectly, offering a reassuring message that will resonate deeply with anyone who has ever questioned their purpose. The plot serves as a crucial reminder that God has a plan for each of us, and that our talents, no matter how hidden they may seem, are waiting to be uncovered. It’s a comforting read that should be revisited often, as its core messages about self-acceptance and resilience are vital for young minds navigating the complexities of growing up. Beyond its uplifting narrative, the book opens the door to important conversations about the myriad strengths we all have beyond the surface, the beauty of our differences, bullying, and more. I was also particularly fond of the stunning illustrations, which are infused with a biblical feel; they complement the words perfectly and add an enchanting layer that children will undoubtedly adore.
Altogether, this delightful read is not just a story; it’s a much-needed source of encouragement for young readers who may be struggling to find their place in the world. I wholeheartedly recommend it to every family with little ones, as it possesses the magic to foster confidence and assurance in children, making them feel more secure as they embark on their journey of self-discovery.”

—Carla Blake, author of Learning Through Poetry: The Bible Vol. 1.
“This is a well-written and much-needed book that addresses one’s self-perception and self-worth. Too often, kids (and some adults) give up on themselves without seeing their full potential and abilities. This book highlights opportunities that promote success and achievements, therefore strengthening positive attitudes.”
—Candace Jones Thorpe, physical therapist at Sentara Williamsburg Regional Medical Center
“With lovely illustrations on every page, You Have a Talent reminds readers young and old that we all have a special gift to offer—all we have to do is look inside ourselves and be confident in who we are.”
—Ceci Hughes, editor and project manager
Meet the illustrator
Victoria Mikki is a Ukrainian art teacher, craftsman, and illustrator. Throughout her decade-long career, she has illustrated more than seventy children’s books.
“The book You Have a Talent became a bright moment in my career. I was lucky to know from my childhood that I wanted to be an artist, so I clearly saw my goal, which helped me move through life. Only in adulthood did I understand that not everyone is as lucky as I was; some people, even in adulthood, do not know what talent they have. I also think this story is simply necessary for children to read. We are all special and have a purpose.”
